More Than a Good Idea, Sales Skills are Key to an Entrepreneur’s Success

It’s hard to believe there’s much good coming out of COVID, but indeed, there is one to note. There is a massive new wave of Entrepreneurs in the making, people who see opportunity in the months-long, planet-consuming pandemic, go-getters who are staying up all night mapping new business ventures and planning to set the world on fire with their revolutionary ideas. Says a recent article in The Financial Times:

In fact, a crisis also creates entrepreneurial opportunities — especially when, like this one, it coincides with technological revolution. It is not just the likes of Amazon, Facebook and Ocado that can profit from disruption. Start-ups and small companies too have a chance.

While maintaining an appropriate distance, of course, these Entrepreneurs are networking and tapping business partners and mentors for support and direction. Even more fervently, these Entrepreneurs are online, doing research, joining groups, and taking classes. While a younger start-up may find educational solutions in Masterclasses and Academies, considerable numbers of Entrepreneurs will look to an alma mater or local community college for business classes and best practices in launching a company.

Regardless of the source, short, smart, courses to support the Entrepreneur are in high demand, and making sure these Learners are supported in their efforts is critical. Accessibility, funding, mentoring and small business events that add fuel to the fire for these new business ventures are imperative.

At Virtanza, we are on a mission to empower fresh new company leaders with the know-how and resilience to be successful. Towards this end, we are partnering with Higher Ed to offer an Entrepreneur-specific program, a brief but powerful online course packed with lessons and real-world skills Learners can put to immediate use. Launching with Harrisburg University’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship in January 2021 as Sales Strategies for Entrepreneurs, the program promises the following Learning Outcomes:

  • Master a 4-step sales process proven to produce results.

  • Effectively connect with customers to drive revenue.

  • Strategically sell solutions to feed a healthy pipeline.

  • Create a high-performing culture of accountability with a diverse and focused team.

Arming the next generation of entrepreneurs with the must-have selling skills they will need to connect, sell, and deliver in this new digital economy is a priority Virtanza shares with Harrisburg.
