Are you frustrated about finding a better job with better pay? Going into sales might be right up your alley.  Find out how sales training can launch you toward a new career opportunity: Attend a sales training information session hosted by Virtanza on March 27 or April 5 in Columbus, Ohio.

Virtanza is an Ohio career school that specializes in sales training and job placement assistance. Its representatives will present program overviews with plenty of time for Q&A on Tuesday, March 27, from 11am to 1pm and on Thursday, April 5, from 11am to 3pm at the OhioMeansJobs center for Franklin County in Columbus, Ohio.

“Sales is an excellent career choice for people who have good social skills,” says Virtanza Founder and CEO Debbie Holzkamp. “Sales is like any profession: There is a process that can be learned.  There are steps and techniques to acquire and practice that lead to success. Virtanza teaches these steps.”

There is a huge need for qualified candidates to meet the demand for sales professionals:

  • Some 1.8 million sales jobs will need to be filled in 2018, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
  • Sales Development Representative is one of the Top 20 Emerging Jobs in the United States, according to a 2017 report by LinkedIn.
  • Sales Representative is on the most recent BLS list of top occupations growing the most 2016-2026.
  • People in sales roles earn a median of $55,700 per year, according to BLS. “Median” means that just as many people earn MORE than $55,700 as earn less. For people stuck in lower-paying jobs, there is true income opportunity.
  • About 25 percent of available jobs – anytime, anywhere – are sales soles.

Companies need revenue to operate and drive their businesses forward. This can insulate an effective salesperson from being laid off when employees in non-revenue-producing departments get a pink slip.

Virtanza is a short-term training and job placement program. Students take five weeks of instructor-led, online classes from anywhere with a PC and their cellphone. After graduation, they receive support during their active job search. “We help people become employable in sales career pathways where they can earn $55,000-plus to start,” Holzkamp emphasizes. “A typical career pathway starts with a sales development role, with a rep potentially moving onto a $75,000-plus account management role. Senior Account managers can earn $150,000-plus. A sales career can also lead to management and executive leadership.”

Adults over 18 with a high school diploma or GED are eligible to apply for the training. Other qualifications include specific traits that indicate sales aptitude: Social, Enterprising, and Investigative. One or any combination of these means someone is a “go” for sales as a profession. Tuition funding is available through OhioMeansJobs for adults who qualify. Other funding options include debt-free Income Share agreements.
